General Impression

What´s there to say about a hotel that has become a landmark of this beautiful and amazing city? Maybe that it fits right in. It is every little bit as amazing as Singapore itself.

Upon our arrival early in the morning we were greeted by a friendly lady at the front desk. Unfortunately there was no room available yet. She apologized and explained that their 2,500 rooms are sold out 98 to 100 % all the time. However, she gave us passwords for the WiFi and access cards for the Sky Park. She also took down our phone number to send us a text message as soon as a room would become available.

The Sky Park is a 340-meter-long cantilevered platform featuring the famous 150 m infinity pool. Lying in a lounge chair high above the skyline of Singapore we sipped a fresh squeezed juice at the edge of the pool. It did not take long and my phone beeped - the room was ready.

Our Deluxe City View room was huge. The design was modern and in sink with the overall beige and sand colour scheme of the hotel. Everything in the room was remote controlled. Including the curtains that were yet hiding what we booked this room for - an amazing view across Marina Bay on Singapore.

The MBS resort includes the hotel, a convention-exhibition centre, the “The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands” mall, a museum, two large theatres, "celebrity chef" restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, a skating rink, and the world's largest atrium casino. The beautiful “Gardens by the Bay” are right behind the hotel.

The hotel features many venues also offering breakfast. Including a large breakfast buffet at “Rise” located in the lobby of Tower I. However, in the city of food we decided to explore Singapore´s many food centers where you can get a meal for ridiculously low prices.

Location

Good! The MBS has its own MRT (Singapore´s unbelievably clean subway) station. You can reach everything from here and even the cruise port is close by. From the Sky Park you can even see the cruise ships. Taking the MRT is easy, efficient and very inexpensive. If you prefer taking a taxi do not hesitate. They are also very cheap.
